Unfortunately the weather has taken a turn for the worst again, hopefully it’s just a temporary change …
After a leisurely breakfast, Kim, Joe and I had a shop in the sales in Leeds. Despite it being a Monday, the town was still quite packed with people picking up a bargain in the sales.

Joe & Kim
Barry and Joe moseyed over to the Armouries after lunch, and spent a couple of hours there while Kim had a snooze and I checked emails.

Barry reckons these photos are all a bit boring, but he didn't take any other photos today!

We thought we’d make a move late afternoon, but luckily met up with fellow narrowboaters who’d moored close to us and informed us that the locks we would be going through were only open to go through from 0815 to 1500 due to vandalism! Not terribly encouraging, and meant that we had no choice but to stay in Leeds another night.
So tomorrow we have a big travelling day ahead in order to keep to our schedule of getting to Burnley on Saturday where Kim and Joe get their return train. Joe’s mum, Corrie, is also joining us for the night tomorrow, so Barry made an itinerary for her to meet us at Apperley Bridge in the afternoon, then with a bit of luck we’ll carry on to Silsden, before we do the famous ‘Bingley Five Rise’ on Wednesday.

Hi Sandra and Barry
ReplyDeleteYour photos are not boring I really enjoy them. You are travelling a lot faster than us but we should pass somewhere early next week I would say. We are travelling much slower towards Leeds on the L&l canal.
Ah coincidence... There was a program on the telly the other night about swords that showed the tower walls lined with swords... Got to think we're somehow part of this.
